Bmw Maintenance Schedule

BMW 3 series maintenance schedule?
I just bought a 2009 328I sedan and I know that BMW has their No Maintenance cost for 4 years and 50,000 miles. I looked around but couldn't find exactly how this system works. Is there some kind of set schedule where I take the car in after a certain amount of time or miles? Does the dealership email or call me when it's time to schedule one of these services/inspections? Where is this schedule? Or is it simply that I can take the car in whenever I want to get a service (such as oil ever 5000 miles). Thanks!
The car computer will remind you when it's time. The first oil change is due 1 year or 12,000 miles. Within the first 4 years, anything wrong with the car except the tires, the dealer will take care with no charge. Try to be good to your service writer, he/she can hook you up with so much free stuff even after 4 years or 50,000 miles.
