Chrysler Engine Codes

Help With Check Engine Codes For 2003 Chrysler Voyager?
My 2003 Chrysler Voyager has a 2.4L 4 cyl engine with 130,000 miles. The Check Engine light went on and I had a local auto parts store read the codes. They are P0420, P0442, and P0456. Can anyone tell me what they mean and possible suggestions as to the problem and fix. Thanks!
P0420 Is Catalytic Bank 1 efficiency. This could be a catalytic converter or an oxygen sensor. Sometimes a computer reprogram is all it takes. It will require testing to determine the problem correctly.
P0442 Is evaporative emission system medium leak detected.
P0456 Is evaporative emissions system small leak detected.
Both of these codes can be caused by a bad gas cap or a vacuum leak. Also cracked emission hoses around the vapor canister. (common on Chrystler products) These codes have to do with the emission systems ability to hold pressure and not vent the fuel vapors into the atmosphere. There is also a purge solenoid that can fail. The easiest thing to check is for the cracked hoses etc.
If there are no cracked hoses you will need a scanner to diagnose it correctly. If you try to guess it will cost you alot of money.
