Buying a 2005 Merc CL 500, who offers the best ext. warranty?
I'm buying a fully loaded, 2005, Mercedes CL 500 with the AMG sports package. Car has 29,000 miles on it.
I need some help on buying a extended warranty for the car. Would you advise full bumper to bumper (never owned a benz before)... or just major breakdown coverage.
Also who is an excellent choice to go with when buying? Thank you in advance!
The car is NOT Merc certified but was a lease return. 4 Carfax entries of regular maintenance at the local Merc dealership. No Autocheck issues, no paint work...

If you're buying this car from a MB dealer (which I STRONGLY recommend), you can get the car certified. When you buy a certified Benz, the manufacturer's warranty is essentially extended by one year or up to 100,000 total vehicle miles. You will have the option of purchasing up to 24 months of additional coverage (with 100,000 still being the mileage limit).
This warranty is honored by every MB store in the country, so even if you have a problem on a road trip, you'll be able to have a qualified tech work on your car without any headaches.
There are other warranty options, third party warranties. Be careful as to which one you pick! Make sure that the warranty company actually covers everything you expect it to (you may have to read some fine print on the contract BEFORE signing).
