BMW or Mercedes-Benz?
I'm looking to purchase a used diesel vehicle and I'm deciding between a BMW or Mercedes-Benz and using it for biodiesel. I'm thinking in terms of maintenance and repairs- I hope to do some repair myself ie- changing the oil.. What would you guys recommend? Any experience with biodiesel with both or either of these makes?
Builtit doesn't know a thing about diesels..disregard his dumb comment. BMW has sold diesels for a long time...just not in the U.S. until recently. I owned an '04 BMW 330D when I was in the military and was stationed in England. The car was a dream.
However, I would not reccomend converting a newer M-B or BMW diesel for bio just yet. Find an old M-B 240D for the conversion as it doesn't have the sophisticated emissions systems that the newer cars have.
